In this course, you’ll explore the fundamental elements of Ashtanga: Breath, Bandhas, and Drishti, while gaining deeper insight into the history and philosophy of yoga.
Marilou will guide you through an exploration of the healing potential of the Breath using Pranayama techniques. These practices can help balance the mind, body, and spirit, promoting deep inner healing. Marilou will also emphasize the powerful cleansing and detoxifying effects of Kriyas, which purify both the physical and energetic bodies, creating space for more profound breathwork and clarity.
In addition to the physical practices, Marilou will delve into the Philosophy of the 8 Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga, helping you understand how these principles lead to a balanced and fulfilled life. A special focus will be placed on the Five Kleshas, or obstacles, which prevent us from attaining true knowledge and wisdom. These Kleshas—ignorance (Avidya), egoism (Asmita), attachment (Raga), aversion (Dvesha), and fear of death (Abhinivesha)—create mental and emotional barriers that can cloud our perception. By recognizing and working through these obstacles, you can deepen your self-awareness and progress on your spiritual path.
This holistic approach to breathwork, kriyas, and philosophy will provide you with tools not only for physical wellbeing but also for overcoming the mental and emotional blocks that limit your growth.
