Eight Reasons to Practice at the Studio

With all the current online yoga offerings, you could argue that you would never have to set foot in a studio ever again. Sure, online yoga has helped us through many lockdowns and quarantines in the past two years. Although we’re grateful for that, there are a few things missing if you only practice at home.

Here are eight reasons to move beyond your living room and join us at the studio.

  • Peaceful environment At Yoga Moves we do our best to create a relaxing ambiance for you. You minimize the chance of your phone, work, pets and kids interrupting your yoga practice. And you get all the benefits of a soothing savasana. Tip: leave your phone at home, come early and start or end with a nice cup of tea in our lounge.

  • Community The word yoga means union or connection. Yoga Moves is a collection of like-minded people that practice together. And the sum of all individual practitioners is bigger than its parts. While you’re sipping that cup of tea, you can connect with other Yoga Moves yogis.

  • Personal Guidance There’s really no substitute for a live teacher to improve your alignment, especially for beginners. All Yoga Moves teachers are specialized in seeing yogis and can give verbal and physical instruction, adjustments, or modifications to deepen your practice. A studio is only as good as its teachers, and we love our teachers!

  • Prevent Injuries All our experienced teachers guide you through the practice safely, to avoid possible injuries. They also love to help you work intelligently with existing ones.

  • Accountability Online yoga classes can make it easier to skip your least favorite poses. Being in a studio class challenges you to do them all, the poses you love but also the ones you dislike or struggle with. This means you get a more whole practice.

  • Let Go Surrendering to the guidance of a great teacher allows you to get out of your own head, into your body and slow down the whirlwinds of the mind. This can be extra helpful if you struggle with anxiety. Letting go of the thinking mind and allowing yourself to be guided through the asanas can be very therapeutic and beneficial.

  • Props Yoga Moves has all the necessary props available to support you during your practice. We even have hammocks and ropes to enjoy the Aerial and Rope yoga classes.

  • Healing Heat Do you have trouble getting warm in winter? Join our warm and hot classes and warm up those cold bones in our infrared heated HOT studio.

Your safety and health are our top priority. We’ve limited the amount of spots in class to about 80%, to facilitate 1 meter distancing inside and outside of class. And we invested in state-of-the-art ventilators and ionizers. This means the air in our studios is as clean as it can get!

Ready to join at one of our three studios? Yoga Moves and our teachers will be thrilled to meet you in the flesh.
