A new website, but why?
Sometimes things are just not flowing as easily as they should.
About a year ago we realized that this was the case with our website. Maybe a website is not the most important thing in the world, but for Yoga Moves, it is a way to communicate and let you know what we can offer you. And in past years, it’s simply become outdated. Both in terms of technical capabilities and in terms of our growth as a studio and as a team.
Well, we haven’t been sitting quietly. We’ve been working hard to offer our community more services like the on-demand library and our online courses. We opened our massage room and our new FLY studio, and with the new FLY studio, we added new Aerial yoga styles and trainings. We created space for our teachers to offer private classes. We wanted to share knowledge surrounding yoga, which is why our podcasts with renowned yoga specialists and teachers around the world were created.
Next to that, we wanted to let you get to know our teachers, hear their voices and stories; we wanted to get to know you, and you to get to know us, beyond the mat. We wanted to share our side of “yoga” with our community, to show you how we see yoga through a wide range of yoga related topics. Which is why our blog section came to live. We wondered if you found it difficult to find something on our website. When you were looking for more information about yoga, where did you go?
And all these new topics needed to fit and become functional, presentable on our website as well. So we realized, maybe this doesn’t fit, maybe we needed to develop a new layout. And soon that became the project of our new website.
So, since the end of 2020, we have been working on this completely new website where we could not only add the extra elements, but also improve what we already had.
Is it perfect now? No, it is not perfect. But we’re ready to show you, and we would love to hear all your suggestions for improvements. You are more than welcome to leave us your comments. Like with yoga, every practice brings us something new.
Thanks to the whole Yoga Moves team, our external partner Connie, but especially An and Hilary for their hours, days, weeks and months of hard work.
Really proud and would love to hear from you.
Maurice
Change is not something that we should fear. Rather, it is something that we should welcome. For without change, nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom, and no one in this world would ever move forwards to become the person they’re meant to be.” –B.K.S. Iyengar
