Sam Barkmeijer

Sam has been teaching Pilates since 2014. At that time she was working as a physiotherapist in a practice where Pilates classes were given to patients with various complaints. It was at this point that Sam decided to learn to give the classes herself, as she discovered how good and important it is using Pilates to contribute to prevention of, and possible recovery from injuries. By training your core in a friendly manner you not only improve your body posture but also create body awareness .

It was early 2017 that she got into contact with yoga, and she learned what yoga could mean for her personally. After a while it was starting to mean so much for her that she decided to follow the 200 hour Hatha Yoga education.
During her Pilates classes Sam gives a lot of attention to the basics of the exercises. She uses her knowledge and experience as a physiotherapist to explain to her class why and in what situation specific exercises are most important. A challenge can be found in every exercise, and this could be a different challenge for everyone.That is why it is so important that everyone is guided with their own challenges on their own level. Next to her work as a physiotherapist Sam gets a lot of fun out of Yoga and Pilates, but most important she also gets a lot of energy out of it.  www.sportandmind.nl
