Yoga Moves Advance Your Yoga Teacher Training

Who are you as a yogi & as a yoga teacher?

A program to define yourself and advance your yoga and your teaching career.

Yoga Alliance Registered (300 hours)  |  Next course starts in September 2017.

You are a 200 hours teacher-training graduate (or equivalent), and you can guide students through a yoga class. Now it is time to go a whole lot deeper and to advance your skills. Do you want to grow, be challenged & inspired to excel as a yoga teacher? Our comprehensive program will help you hone your unique teaching style and voice. The Yoga Moves Advanced Training is designed for yoga teachers, who want to become a more authentic, inspired, professional and true-to-yourself yoga teacher. This Yoga Alliance Registered 300 hours training offers you the depth and support to experience transformation on a personal level and will help you grow as an excellent, grounded and creative yogi.

Our Advanced 300 hour Training program consist of:

  • 8 modules spread over 10 months at Yoga Moves in Utrecht, each 4 days. One of the modules entails a nature retreat in the north of The Netherlands
  • 6 practice days throughout the year to keep you flowing
  • Online anatomy course with Judith Lasater and integrated by Lizzie Lasater
  • Online meetings to keep us connected and working together to practice personal coaching

Conscious | Yoga of Life: Professional & Personal Development

Know yourself more deeply. Yoga teachers can make a difference in people’s lives through the practice of yoga. Teachers who are not aware of their own strengths & limitations often color this wonderful opportunity. Learn to be a positive change agent and how to freely support and inspire others to grow.

Your journey includes our unique “Yoga of Life” course where you dive into your dharma, your vision, your strengths, and your passion. Learn coaching, communication and business skills that are essential if you want to be a professional & accomplished modern yogi. We will be helping you move towards your future, while staying present in the moment!

Creative | Artful Vinyasa & Energetic Practices

Yoga and especially vinyasa-based yoga has the power to move us beyond mechanical living into a magical experience of being at one with all possibilities –physically, emotionally, mentally & spiritually. Learn to be more confident at a teacher of flow.

  • Sequence creative embodied practices designed for different specific students, intentions, seasons and settings.
  • Dive deeper into the art of sequencing; bring strength and ease to the practice.
  • Connect the dots: breath, alignment, postures, verbal commands.
  • Work with people using principles of vinyasa krama: the intelligent unfolding of somatic body awareness to create a vinyasa based class.
  • Create sequences in a intelligent way; learn how to use structure that will deliberately and creatively build into peak poses.
  • Explore subtle aspects of practice, the tantric perspective of living free.
  • Introduction to deep holistic restorative yoga, somatic movement, tandava, & slow soul flow styles of teaching.

Concise | Intelligent Body Mind & Alignment

We believe every competent & ethical yoga teacher must be able to work with both possibilities and limitations of the human condition. In this biomechanical /alignment/ anatomical oriented curriculum, you will gain insight how to guide students to a balanced physical and energetic alignment. Explore variations in students in terms of ability, desire, different stages of life and constitution.

  • Learn to evaluate postural tendencies and habits.
  • Understand how to move bones and activate muscles in ways that create stability and openness.
  • Understand western anatomy and physiology of respiration and the esoteric anatomy and physiology of subtle energy found in ancient yoga practices.
  • Explore the cultivation of subtle energy in tangible and structural ways
  • Integrate principles of spanda (pulsation) in tangible ways in your practice & teaching.
  • Learn to see people, their strengths and weaknesses and discover both dynamic and restorative approaches for working with them.

Retreat

Enjoy a 3,5 day quest-trek retreat in eastern part of the Netherlands. You will be walking in nature, exploring many contemplations, doing writing exercises, group activities, meditations and of course natural yoga. We will stimulate your creative unconscious and make it conscious. Discover your authentic dharma.

Assessments & Personal Project

Assessment will be through assignments after each module. Enjoy digesting topics through reading, written assignments, give presentations, teach your fellow students and review/reflect on your teaching experiences.

You will receive individual coaching over the course of the training from your Yoga of Life mentor, helping you focus, plan and move forward with your personal and professional desires. Get support for your final project & presentation.

All our teachers bring decades of experience and passion to this training, to give you a full and deeply empowering program with a focus on your growth and development and help you to find your strengths as a yoga teacher.

Sandra Carson

Sandra integrates refinement in the area of alignment, bio-mechanics and energy lines from a down-to-earth perspective. Besides alignment, Sandra is enthusiastic about sharing her love of all things tantric – and how this living philosophy can help you live in the moment and with more freedom and love.

Marlene Henny

Marlene will be teaching the structures you can use to be more creative. You will learn the Art of Sequencing; the tools of teaching breath-based creative vinyasa flow. Dive into the art of Vinyasa krama, a deeply creative way to understand the essence of practice and teaching fluid yoga.

Hilary Brown

Hilary will inspire you to trust yourself more, and help you step-by-step to move towards your dreams. Her focus is on leading you through a unique process of self-development, to support your success. She brings her expertise in slow flow hatha, tantra and teaching authentically.

Lizzie Lasater

Lizzie is specialized in Restorative Yoga and will be teaching this plus will include a savasana module & anatomy topics. You will be asked to enroll in her online anatomy course and work through it across the year and she will integrated those concepts in her module.

Marianne van Wetter

Marianne is the founder and inspiration of MYQuest (Netherlands) that helps people break out of habits and find deeper meaning. Using a combination of walking in nature, coaching, and deep questions to (re) discover your true nature.

The retreat experience is a gentle, intense but fun and deep dive into your heart and mind.

The fees covers

  • All tutorials/teaching (7 long weekends plus retreat)

There are no extra VAT fees to be added (CRKBO registered professional training). No hidden costs. We also offer a student discount on all classes at Yoga Moves for the duration of the course!

The cost does not include travel to Yoga Moves or the retreat center, reading materials (books) or the cost of attending classes.

About the Quest Trek

I was actually a bit skeptical at first. As I have done already a lot of deep dives and coaching sessions. The actual weekend was great. It was intense. A lot of different exercises and elements but, for me, all coming to the same core. And that was very clarifying and confirming. For me the program made complete sense. First looking back at the past, patterns and fears and from there going to the future. That in combination with the (individual) walks, which gave the time to digest, and being in nature was perfect. The team was great, especially Marian is amazing!! For me personally, the horse coaching added a lot of value. To recap, the weekend brought me a lot of clarity and confirmation on my personal path. I went to the quest weekend without expectations, so I could be open for what was coming. I loved the venue and being in nature was a bonus. I felt at home there together with some genuinely amazing people. Hilary filled her role as leader and yoga teacher here in such an authentic way that it generated my respect and appreciation.

The couple of days were quite life changing …attempting ‘self-improvement” obtained from using these models was simply not my “thing”. De quest trek was fantastisch. Waarom? Omdat het me de ruimte heeft gegeven over dingen na te denken waar je nooit bij stil staat. Omdat het me heeft laten reflecteren en vanuit daar nieuwe ideeën heb kunnen genereren. Veel inzichten over mezelf. Wat me tege houdt, verder brengt en vooral ook waar ik blij van wordt. Ik kwam naar de QuestTrek met de verwachting om wat dieper in mijzelf te kijken en hier meer duidelijkheid en of inspiratie kon verkrijgen. Ik heb alles ontvangen wat ik verwacht had en meer……we begonnen de eerste dat een reis door je eigen leven…aan het eindpunt kregen ik een rode draad door mijn leven….(verrassend genoeg was dat yoga)……dit was de eerste quest en had bij mij al een impact achtergelaten waar geen van mijn verwachtingen tegen op kon (en dit was nog maar dag 1…..nog 3 te gaan)……..De andere 3 dagen waren net zo inspirerend als de eerste…..ik heb veel mogen ontvangen van mijn mede studenten, van de coachen en Hilary en van mijzelf…..ik zeg voor herhaling vatbaar

Wat mij het meest heeft verrast is dat we allemaal zo lief voor elkaar waren…..en we allemaal met elkaar meeleefde, elkaar steunde en er voor elkaar waren (dit is in mijn ogen heel belangrijk voor het gehele proces geweest….we hebben het als een team aangepakt en overwonnen)…….en wat mij ook erg verraste is dat ik door de bossen/natuur lopen geweldig vind…..vooral alleen……dan kom je echt jezelf tegen…..hier is een plek (lopen door de bossen/natuur alleen) waar ik veel antwoorden heb gekregen…..en ga dit nu ook vaker doen…. ~ Naomi – 2016

Ik verwachtte helemaal niets. Maar na de quest, raad ik het iedereen aan. Ik weet nu al dat ik mijn dochter, als ze 17 is, zal stimuleren om mee te gaan naar Nepal met Marianne. Heb er zoveel van mezelf geleerd, ervaren,…  dacht niet dat dat kon, op zo een korte tijd.

Zoveel oude vastgeroeste patronen kunnen inzien. Het was echt geweldig! Er nu nog iets mee doen, da’s moeilijker maar we werken eraan 🙂 als je de kans krijgt, DOEN, zou ik zeggen! ~ Belinda  2016

Sandra has great energy. she sees everybody, her module was really structured… it was a dialogue, she is open for feedback and leaves all open for own interpretation. In this module we focussed most on the anatomy, subtle energy, linking instructions, body awareness …we learned a lot about the body through the practices, which is great, because that way you really feel, see and know what is taught.

Sandra is an excellent teachers teacher! She is good in bringing her knowledge to us…I love her way of teaching and approach. She knows a lot and she makes sure you understand everything. Very happy to have her in the course.

I really enjoyed this module and learned a lot. I always really enjoy learning about the body, the muscles and bone alignment. For me its almost like building a house/structure. You need to align everything to make the loadbearing working. Also I didn’t know anything about tantra yoga yet, and it really opened my eyes. I love learning new things.

Sandra’s module gives a lot of tools for what I call ‘clean teaching’: how to get students into the poses aligned and well, without using too much words and always working with the same pattern.

Sandra is innemend en open- een prettige benaderbare persoonlijkheid met veel wijsheid te delen- ze speelt goed in op de behoefte.

Eligibility

200+ hour Yoga Moves Graduate or any other 200-hour graduate, or foundation training course graduate. You must also have a regular yoga practice i.e. 2-4 classes a week & home practice. If you come from a different school of yoga or style, please contact us at training@yogamoves.nl for more information.

Bridge Course

We require as pre-training the Foundations of Vinyasa Krama 3-day course with Hilary Brown. This is especially important for people who have not done Yoga Moves basic teacher training or students who are less familiar with the foundation of alignment and vinyasa krama – the stages of building a posture and sequence in a vinyasa style. Your welcome to join it in December this year too during the course. See below for upcoming course.

Hilary Anne Brown is the founder of Yoga Moves and teaches a lyrical form of (slow flow) vinyasa yoga, a fluid but precise, dynamic yet relaxed method that incorporates the breath as a focus of moving meditation. Marlene Henny

Marlene Henny

Marlene Henny is one of Hollands leading Vinyasa Yoga Teachers. She is a certified and experienced yoga teacher who is known for her skills in sequencing, allowing everybody to join the ride. She is a dynamic yoga teacher and her approach is genuine, dynamic, creative, fun and from the heart. Marlene has been teaching at Yoga Moves since its start - in 2003 and is a leading trainer at the Yoga Moves Teacher Training.

Sandra Carson

Sandra Carson

Sandra Carson is a knowledgable and insightful yoga teacher who has been teaching internationally since 2002. She teaches mostly in the Vinyasa style with great care and compassion for her students. Challenging the students in the practice, she carefully guides them from empowered awareness to the space where transformation can take place. Sandra is an E-RYT500 and Anusara Yoga teacher.
