The state of namaskar is “to bow, to realize the essence,” and in this module we examine and embody the essence of namaskar. This introductory module to the Prana Vinyasa methodology explores seven namaskars, energetic alignment, asana breakdown and hands on assists.

  • Awaken the Art of Namaskar by exploring the philosophical roots and evolution of vinyasa as a movement meditation and way of life.
  • Practice, learn, and begin to teach Surya and Chandra Namaskar (the Sun and Moon Salutations), Surya Namaskar A & B
  • Experience the first level of the 40 Prana Vinyasa Namaskars: Rhythmic Vinyasa as well as Dancing Warrior Namaskars as a foundation for further study in following modules.
  • Learn to use the Energetic Alignment Method to integrate and understand how to teach the five movements of Prana as a tool for embodying breath, alignment, and flow in both the subtle and physical bodies.
  • Practice hands on assists and alignment for primary asanas that make up Surya and Chandra Namaskar
  • Learn the Prana Flow Three-Part Vinyasa Method and Vinyasa Krama to teach to all levels
  • Cultivate the basic elements of Prana Vinyasa cueing (breath, body part, direction, anatomical activity, bhava/feeling state)

Do you need to be a yoga teacher

No, this is immersion is for both practitioners and yoga teachers. Yoga teachers have the option to opt for prana vinyasa teacher training credit, yoga alliance continuing credit or as the first module for the 200/300 hour program with Samudra or Yoga Moves.

For people enrolled in Samudras teacher training

  • This module offer counts for 21 elective contact hours of training.
  • Required Yoga Alchemy Course:  Art of Namaskar

This module can be followed separately or as a part of the Prana Vinyasa Teacher Training 200h/300h.

About the teacher

Christine May

Christine May is an open-hearted, life-loving experienced Prana Vinyasa Flow® Yoga teacher trainer and certified teacher (e-ryt 500 Yoga Alliance). Prana Vinyasa Flow® is a revolutionary, powerful and transformative branch of Vinyasa Flow Yoga.

Her teaching is influenced by her attentive, loving devotion to her students and the many paths of yoga, life and spirituality as well as many years of assisting her beloved mentor, friend and teacher Shiva Rea (
Prana Flow® Yoga is based on Tantric Philosophy, Ayurveda, Bhakti and Somatics.
Christine is the most experienced teacher trainer in Germany for Affiliate Prana Flow® Yoga Alliance Trainings and Immersions. She is well known for creating and holding sacred space for transformation and joyful in-depth explorations.

Her interest in finding truth through various systems also led her to become a certified Associate Healing Tao Yoga Instructor with Mantak Chia and a Somatic/Holistic Counsellor with her teachers Turiya and Rafia in “Working with People: A psychology of Awakening“ and “Relationship Counselling“ which focuses on assisted self-inquiry.
She has a strong dedication to hold space for others for self-knowing, touching the depth of our Being and cultivating heart-centred connections. Christine is very passionate about supporting her students in the art of living and embodying yoga, authenticity and truth as well as joyful and peaceful living.
