Enrich your practice and understanding of Yoga and learn how to connect yoga to everyday life questions and issues with our 8-day Going Deeper course for curious, intermediate and inspired students, but then in beautiful Scheveningen. In collaboration with Yogaseads, Yoga Moves expands her Going Deeper for the first time.

This in-depth course will help you determine specific personal approaches that will make your practice fit your life. The focus of this course is on your own practice and understanding.

  • Are you interested to explore yoga in depth, outside a teacher training?
  • Do you want to learn how to connect yoga to your everyday life questions and issues?
  • Fine-tune your personal practice?
  • Explore the therapeutic aspects of your yoga practice?

Then our Going Deeper course is just the thing for you!

What we will explore:

Start each day with a 2,5-hour practice & workshop that includes detailed exploration of both basic and intermediate asanas, including alignment principles, energetic actions, benefits, preparatory anatomy in relation to movement-oriented yoga. In addition, we will explore the art of seeing bodies and working with partners.

Expand | Each day explore a topic integral to yoga, but not usually covered in day-to-day classes. We will take classic yoga philosophy out of the books onto the mat – and into your life!

Integrate | We will also show you how you can understand sequencing and build practices to address personal needs, such as insomnia, overwork, stress, back problems, etc. We help you to build practices that fit your life individually.

Restore | Every day we will include pranayama (breathing) practices and restorative hatha yoga. You will find how healing, a full spectrum practice can be to your whole being.

OMwork

  • We will offer you reading and listening assignments as (h)OM(e)-work. And suggest practice routines you can build at home or in class. You’ll be asked to read some other articles and possibly some books.
  • Prices include course manual. You wil be asked to buy 1-3 books and follow classes during the course.

Level: The program is open to curious and dedicated students interested in taking their practice to the next level (minimum of +/- 6 months regular yoga practice with mixed level classes).

About the teachers

Barbara van Dortmond

Barbara van Dortmond is a very dedicated, experienced certified yang (dynamic) and yin (quiet) yoga teacher. She is co-owner of YogaSeads at Scheveningen and teaches yoga for more than 15 years now. Enjoying life, practising yoga on and off the mat, healthy food and balancing life are a few of her passions. Besides her yoga teaching, she was a stress counsellor and burnout coach in organizations for many years. So her expertise is all about learning to take care of yourself in body & mind in life & work and fully enjoy life! Her challenge is to bring the yoga philosophy in a simple and applicable way for students so they can play with it and hopefully apply it in their daily life. Hilary Anne Brown

Hilary Anne Brown is the founder of Yoga Moves, which she opened in Utrecht in the summer of 2001. A native Californian, Hilary has studied and practiced many forms of yoga, healing arts, massage & bodywork and dance since the early 1980s. She has yoga teaching certificates in Iyengar, Vinyasa yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa (Prana) Flow, and is recognized as an experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT500) since 2006. She has studied with numerous known and unknown yogis to whom she is ever grateful.

Hilary teaches a lyrical form of vinyasa yoga, a fluid but precise, dynamic yet relaxed method that incorporates the breath as a focus of moving meditation. She teaches with sensitivity and strength, letting you discover what yoga can bring to your life in a real and tangible ways. Breath is always a theme in her work, but equally understanding and feeling what you are doing. Alignment is a key ingredient and joy a natural outcome of her teaching. Sometimes you will laugh, cry or dance in her classes! Hilary is a committed yogi that helps her students take a step closer to themselves.
