Finding Silence | Restorative Yoga Teacher Training- Level 1

With Lizzie Lasater

Our bodies know how to relax. Our bodies know how to heal themselves.

Restorative yoga is about giving our bodies time and creating the conditions for relaxation and healing to occur.

We are all exhausted. Stress, the leading syndrome of our urban lives, leads to heart disease, obesity, infertility, indigestion, lowered immune function and much more. In the pursuit of health and work-life balance, yoga has become another thing on our to-do list. In our ambitious obsession with “doing” we have forgotten the healing power of “being.”

In Restorative yoga we:

  • Learn how to stop “doing” and start “being”.
  • The pose is the actor and we are the receiver.
  • We discover the secret to going slow, paying attention, and being still.
  • We practice deep rest and listen to the rhythm of our own hearts.
  • We emphasize “being” rather than “doing.”

Our bodies know how to relax. Our bodies know how to heal themselves. Restorative yoga is about giving our bodies time and creating the conditions for relaxation and healing to occur.

In this first part of a 30 hour training you will learn straightforward techniques for teaching introversion and stillness. You will gain the ability to offer your students ways to soothe their overstimulated sympathetic nervous systems and find relief from the stress of their busy lives.

The focus of the level 1 training is on practicing Restorative Yoga, making this part very suitable for non- teachers that want to build their own restorative yoga practice.

About the teacher

Lizzie Lasater

Raised in San Francisco and trained as a designer, Lizzie Lasater teaches restorative yoga internationally and online. She sometimes jokes that yoga “runs in the family” because her Mom, Judith Hanson Lasater, co-founded Yoga Journal Magazine and has been teaching since 1971.  Lizzie posts daily on social media about the pleasure of deceleration.
