Part 1.5 is your independent home study course work

Part 1 and Part 2 are taught with time in between so you can do your home study period between them to allow and complete your assignments.
Who is it for?
This course is designed for the training of yoga teachers who hold a recognized yoga teacher qualification (usually we ask you to have a 200h training or equivalent).
Midwives or other professionals in the field with yoga experience can do this course as well and will get a Birthing Lightly certificate, instead of a Perinatal Yoga Certificate.
Successful completion of Part 1 and 2 Perinatal Yoga plus Postnatal Yoga together create a comprehensive training of 8 days intensive, in 4+2+2 days plus coursework that satisfy the requirements to register as a Yoga Alliance (UK) Prenatal teacher.
The diploma course consists of three modules
Students have a maximum period of 12 months to complete the Diploma from the time of their Part 1 course.
How is this course assessed?
Part 1 is assessed by means of a simple practical assessment in which students teach part of a class.
Between the two training weekends, students make observations/portfolio of four case-study classes. This can be done by other than Birthlight prenatal teachers, or by a physiotherapist working with pregnancy, a midwife, a doula etc. So it is no problem that there is no Birthlight teacher near you!
Additionally, there are some written assignments including answering 10 questions, a short essay and a book/DVD review. This period of self study through teaching, reflecting, reading and writing consolidates the knowledge and skills learned on Part 1.
Your coursework will be carefully assessed with detailed constructive comments aimed to forward your teaching and practice. Also, you will write a book review after reading a book – or watching a dvd related to pregnancy and yoga. You will be given a list of recommended books and dvd’s.
The diploma in Perinatal Yoga is awarded on the basis of both the student’s coursework portfolio and a final assessment.
“The tutor feedback and evaluation helps to bring your teaching to a higher level!”
